Gothic Outline Shaded is a revival of a 100 year old hand-carved face sent to us straight from England. This display face was drawn from a 15 line face that we purchased in 2011. Outlined and shaded, this design grabs the attention from any other faces in it's proximity.
The font includes three weights: regular, fill, and distressed. The regular weight is a clean, precise redraw which captures the contours of the original wood type. The fill is designed to be used with the regular weight. The distressed weight is a rendering of the textures of the letterpress proof itself, warts and all.
Because wood type was created for headlines, fonts of wood type rarely have extensive character palettes. The characters pictured above are the historically accurate glyphs represented in this font.
